Pre-Training Camp Opinions on the Cowboys of the Big D

T minus 26 Days… Can you handle it?

In less than a month, our Dallas Cowboys take the field for Training Camp 2013 in Oxnard, California. The long, depressing off season is almost over and soon our ‘Boys will officially be back to work. Once OTA’s and mini-camps are over, gearing up for Training Camp is always an exciting time. Soon, we will be able to expunge rumors, squash the negative banter from our haters and finally put last seasons failures to rest. Until then, we get to debate and speculate everything from how our Rookies will show up to how the new Defense is going to pan out.

This week, I want to do something different than give you my opinion (yep, I really just said that!) This week, I want to hear from you! How will Romo show up? What about our offensive line (or seemingly lack thereof)? Does the play calling change really make a difference? What about the 4-3 D? How is the secondary going to shake out? These are just a few of the great debates going on out there and I want your take.

Leave me some comments, shoot me an email or tweet me a Holla! Share your thoughts, I love hearing from you.

Cheers to the Pre-Training Camp Debates, Dez

I think that that OLine will be fine. And I think Romo is going to come into camp with a chip on his shoulder because the NFL Network disked him from the top 100 players in the league seeing how he had better numbers than several of the QB’S. I think going to the 4-3 Defense is going to a lot better than the 3-4 because Dallas have and has had the Personal for it. I think the safety position is going to be one of their strengths this year

Thanks for the feedback Ronnie and well said. I agree with everything… Except the OL being fine… And I have to admit- I only disagree out of fear! (annoying, I know, right?!) I just don’t know if the line is there. I have to agree with Ken and Billy… Hopefully some of the youngin’s can step-up and shake things up! Cheers!

if the young oline guys arent ready now then when? i say lets cut the two supposed starters who can never practice because of injuries and get the younger guys in action. they should be as ready as they are likely to get without some playing time in games. several of them have 2 or 3 years of developmental time with the team. if theyre not ready by now lets cut them too and get someone who can play and will play. the two whiners we got in freeagency last year are just holding the younger guys back while they lay around and draw hefty pay checks. two mistakes by the scouts and jerry. lets move on from them

Hey Billy! Thanks for the comments! I’m excited for more discussions when the ‘Boys hit the field for training camp and things start to shake-up! Cheers!

I do agree with Billy, its time to cut the injury prone OL’s and let the new kids come up and try to make this work. But, Im not at Practices and dont see all the play from all the players! thats why im still working on Airplanes instead of running and NFL team! lol !

Thanks for the feedback Ken! Hopefully pre-season will provide us with some much needed shake-ups on the OL and leave us stronger than we are predicting. Cheers!

I really don’t think Romo gives a crap about the NFL top 100. He got paid this summer and handsomely. He’s going to do well because he is a damned good quarterback and his time to shine has come. The Cowboys will field their most complete starting 22 in a long time, especially on the defensive side of the ball and we have a solid coaching staff. The deciding factor will be the team’s health. If they can stay healthy, we will compete, hard. I’m predicting that Frederick will have a good season, Ty Smith will make the Pro Bowl AND that Doug Free will be much better this season. Go Cowboys! Make us proud.

Thanks for the feedback, Alfonso! It’s always appreciated. I don’t know if Romo cares or not that we wasn’t on the NFL Top 100. Personally I would be pretty peeved if I were him. I mean think about it, your peers didn’t think enough of you to put you in the Top 100… Hopefully he will use that to strengthen his resolve this season and come out ready to rock! Cheers!
