Dallas Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr hosted his inaugural Celebrity weekend today in the Dallas area. The events included a free football camp for youngsters and a celebrity all-star game. Landry Hat Senior Writers Mark Lane and Todd Toombs both attended the events and had the privilege of interviewing Carr himself, as you can see in the below video: (We apologize for the wind)
The events, which are being co-hosted by Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, are all being done in support of the “Carr Cares Foundation”. This non-profit organization has a focus on youth enrichment. The foundation aspires to mold youth into becoming more responsible and motivated young adults, enabling them to be self-sufficient, and productive members of society. !005 of today proceedings will go directly to the foundation.
When asked about today’s camp, here’s what Carr had to say:
“I remember growing up and not having the opportunity to learn from and interact with professional athletes and coaches. Therefore, I wanted to allow football camp participants and fans attending the softball game to receive an opportunity that I never had growing up.”
Other Cowboy players who are expected to participate in today’s softball game include Morris Claiborne, Dez Bryant, Bruce Carter, and Jason Hatcher. You can expect to see more player interviews later today right here on The Landry Hat from this event.
