Some one has already mention before but I’ll repeat it. Tony Romo has a chance to be the fastest QB to throw for 30k in yards this season. Also if he throws 10 games over 300yrds he’ll be the fastest QB to have 50 300yd games. And he was undrafted. He’s a hall of famer maybe not first ballot but he’ll be there eventually. You can’t write the cowboys history without tony romo and for that he should be there. And if he ends up winnig a super bowl then pencil him as a first ballot hall of famer for sure. He would be the best UNDRAFTED QB to play the game, of course behind Kurt Warner. And when romo when’s a SB we’ll debate who’s the better undrafted QB. Give the man his due. For not being drafted he’s surpassed any realistic expectations you could have for an undrafted QB.

20K yards puts him over 45K for his career, a top 10 all-time position. Toss in a Super Bowl and I think he’s a potential HOF.

As much I respect what Romo has done… you have to look at how the Hall of Fame is selected… The question was not does Romo have a chance at the Hall of Fame in his career, the question is stated, IS Romo a Hall of Fame QB as of today??? The key words are AS OF TODAY… If he were to hang them up right now most of the media members would view him as a failure… Not to mention you have to look at the historical past of the Hall of Fame voters… If Phil Simms who broke and holds most records for the New York Giants franchise and has a Super Bowl Trophy could not get elected to the Hall of Fame, Romo does not stand a chance as his career stands at this moment…

But on a personal note, anything the Hall of Fame votes on is inconsequential until Charles Haley, a 5 time Super Bowl champion and key member of two of the best dynasties in the history of football, gets into the Hall. Until Haley has his bust in Canton the Hall of Fame is a joke and not a serious institution…

Stats are all great. Unfortunately how quickly and how many yards one gets are not they way one gets into the HoF. The NFL has changed. Everyones getting more stats. They will not define Romo. It will be his big game and post season record, both woefully short of consideration today. As an example Don McNabb is struggling to gain support for the hall. He of a SB appearance and I think 4 other conference championships. His teams were far short on talent. It was mostly him. IMO Romo cannot hold a cnadle to the successes of McNabb. So I see no chance for the Hall unless he wins big after 33.

sorry, Romo is far better qb than mcFumbles ever was. And I have never seen a more bitter player after retirement than mcnabb. every interview he does on nfl network comes across as bitter
