Thanks to the Landry Hat’s friends over at Panini America trading cards, die-hard Dallas Cowboys’ fans can now get an early glimpse of the rookie cards of the Cowboys’ draft picks from the 2013 NFL Draft. Panini was actually at the draft this year and unveiled these images of the first official NFL Rookie Cards in real time, as they were drafted.
If any of you remember the original 1989 Score Football Troy Aikman, Barry Sanders, and Deion Sanders rookie cards, the design of these new rookie cards should look very familiar to you. Their vintage design is an appropriate tribute to those classic cards and should bring up a moment of nostalgia for older collectors. This was the proper way to celebrate Score’s 25th anniversary.
Through the wizardry of CGI, Score’s 50-card Hot Rookies inserts actually feature some of the top rookies in their NFL uniforms. Below you’ll find Cowboy rookies Joseph Randle, Gavin Escobar and Terrance Williams decked out in sliver and blue. And they look pretty darn good, if I say so myself. And with three hits per hobby box (at least two autographs), the chances of finding an awesome collectable is almost ensured.
All these rookies, and 100 other members of the 2013 rookie crop (including the hilarious Leon Sandcastle rookie card), will be available in packs and boxes of 2013 Score Football starting in late May. You can pre-order yours today at iCollectPanini.com. You can also follow Panini on Facebook here and on Twitter here.
