The only choice there that really makes a lot of sense is Bill Callahan and I will tell you why. Jimmy Robinson has the title of Assistant Head Coach to go along with his Wide Receivers Coach title. Bill Callahan is not only the Offensive Line Coach but the Offensive Coordinator. If he were retained but Mularky or Cameron were hired to call plays, what title is there for them unless you fire Callahan, or strip him of his title.
Here’s an unpopular possibility that exists, all of those rumors were unfounded and Jerry Jones still values the opinion of confidant Joe Gibbs who told him the Head Coach should call one side of the ball. That would mean Jason Garrett keeps his play calling duties. It would also mean the hot seat he is on is even hotter, because there would be almost no wiggle room for him.
There is all kinds of head scratching about whether or not Matt Eberflus will remain on this staff. He is highly respected by the departed Rob Ryan and it is safe to assume there is some loyalty there as well. But he likes it here and loves his players, and they love him. He can probably stay if he wants to and learn from one of the best ever, or he can go and the Cowboys would be searching for a Linebackers Coach. If he leaves one name to watch will be Joe Barry, recently with the San Diego Chargers. It is possible Scottie Hazelton might also come as a Quality Control Coach if Ben Bloom leaves with Eberflus. However, rumors abound that Barry will head back to the USC Trojans.
Bet on this Cowboys fans. Matt Eberflus will stay in Dallas rather than once again following Rob Ryan. Call it a gut feeling.
