TIGHT ENDS

- Jason Witten, 30, signed through 2017
- James Hanna, 23, signed through 2015
- Colin Cochart, 25, signed through 2014
- Andre Smith, 24, signed through 2014

Witten is one of the three best players on this team. He will retire a Cowboy. Hanna looks like a stud in the making and has passed Phillips on the depth chart. Phillips might be back if he accepts whatever Dallas offers or could be replaced via draft / free agency. Cochart is further along than Smith but ultimately, both could be replaced as well.

FREE AGENTS
- John Phillips, 25, unrestricted free agent

The fact that Phillips had a very manageable contract (4 years/$1.83 million) should make him a economical option to come back in 2013. Even as the third tight end, he provides a reliable option in the run game as a blocker, has decent hands as a pass catcher and provides support on the special teams unit. Dallas certainly has more pressing issues so a similar contract offer would make sense.
