- DeMarco Murray, 24, signed through 2014
- Lance Dunbar, 22, signed through 2014
- Phillip Tanner, 24, signed through 2013
- Lawrence Vickers, 29, signed through 2014

Along with the offensive line, this may be the weakest position on the team. Murray is a flat out stud and has the opportunity to carry on the legacy of great Cowboys running backs IF he can stay healthy. Dunbar was never able to get his foot in the door and gain any solid playing time, but does have potential. Tanner has shown flashes but has mostly missed out on opportunities to become a viable option. Vickers was up and down in his first year as the lead fullback.

- Felix Jones, 25, unrestricted free agent

Jones is finishing his rookie deal signed in 2008, earning $1.17 million last year. Unfortunately for him, he had arguably his worst year as a pro in the final year of the deal and didn’t exactly light the world on fire the year before either. Ultimately, I think it is best for both parties to move on amicably as Dunbar could at worst be a similar type back who is younger and cheaper.
