Do You Agree With The Cowboys' Firing Of Rob Ryan?

Many of our Dallas Cowboy die-hard fans/readers strongly disagreed with the firing of defensive coordinator Rob Ryan on Tuesday. For most, it was the last straw in what has become viewed as some very odd choices by owner and general manager Jerry Jones.

Jones has elected to keep head coach Jason Garrett in place and remove Ryan and running backs’ coach Skip Peete. The moves are made even more questionable considering both the defense and offensive backfield were ravaged with injuries through the season.

Ryan’s defenses have had a history of starting strong, but struggling the second half of the season. Despite their injury woes, the defense was able to step up in most games in critical situations. Cornerback Brandon Carr’s game winning interception against the Pittsburgh Steelers comes to mind. But their lack of effectiveness in two games against the Washington Redskins probably swayed the decision negatively to move on from Ryan.

Some are speculating a move to the 4-3 defense is planned.

But what do you think? Answer the poll below and leave a comment at the bottom of this page.

No, RR was throw underneath the bus by JG. At least he had a legitament excuse all the injuries. RR defence was a NFL top 5 defence with all healthy players. JG Offence was 3rd in the passing game and 31st in the running game. The boys have their lowest running yards totals since 1989. The boys pass the ball 65 % to 35 percent Run, despite having almost 80% yards passing to 20% percent running. This all points out to a bad OL and JG was the one who selected these players. My guess Is JG want followers and not leaders. I assume Skip Pete complaint about his RB not getting enough touches, there was some games where the some game where the boys pass 55 times to 11 runs. I assume RR made JG look dumb when he challenge the play when JG had no clue.

The talk about the change of a 3-4 to a 4-3 is really not an issue, we played many games with 4, 5 and even 6 man fronts. My guess is we already changes it the media who need to catch up with what really going on here in Dallas

Apparently no one, other than the RB coach, is accountable for the offensive problems on this team.

This can’t be real ! Rob Ryan was the best coach on of the best at what he do.We had a top 5 defense when everybody was healthy ! Our defense didn’t allow over 17 points a games for the first ten games ! And you mean to tell Me the offense couldnt score 18 points a game and that’s Rob Ryan fault ? The problem was not defense it was Garret ! It was ROMO ! Our running game ! If it was for our defense we wouldn’t won those eight games ! I was I die hard born and raised Dallas Cowboys fan I’m not anymore.obviously Jerry Jones or Garret dont like passionate players and coaches

Jerry Jones is a idiot. He couldn’t run a team if was running little league. You are going get rid of a man that kept this defense together with all the injuries that was on this team . Houdini himself couldn’t have doing a better job. Why don’t you get rid of your oc ? Oh yeah, you want a yes man.
