The Dallas Cowboys still have one more regular season game to play in 2012 to decide this season’s ultimate success. But some more hard-core fans are also beginning to think about 2013.
This Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins will determine the exact course the Dallas organization will take in 2013. Questions like will defensive tackle Jay Ratliff, running back Felix Jones, and corner back Mike Jenkins remain on the team? Or will head coach Jason Garrett still be the Cowboys’ leader next season?
Although many issues have yet to be resolved, we do now know who the Boys will face next season. The order of the games won’t come out until later this off-season but we now know enough to tell you who the Cowboys will be playing in 2013.
Keep in mind that the NFL uses a rotating schedule. That means that 14 of the Cowboys’ 16 opponents are determined in advance, regardless of what the team’s record is the previous year. The other two games are determined based on record.
For instance, this season, the Boys’ played their own division-mates twice (6 games) and it was their turn to play the AFC North (4 games) and the NFC South (4 games). That all adds up to 14 games.
Here we go:
Home Games: New York Giants, Washington, Philadelphia, Green Bay, Minnesota, Denver, Oakland.
Away Games: New York Giants, Washington, Philadelphia,San Diego, Detroit, Chicago, Kansas City.
Highlighted games: Denver @ Dallas – Peyton Manning pays his respects to Jerry World. Dallas @ Detroit – The Cowboys have a chance to exact revenge for the 2011 comeback loss the Lions gave them in Big D.
What do you think of the 2013 opponent list?
