Fans Have Had Enough….

A fan in from Mount Benning, Ga. has recently created a petition to the White House that asks for the removal of Jerry Jones as owner, team president, and general manager. As reported from nfl.com, the petition goes as follows:
“We, the Citizens of the Great State of Texas, and Dallas Cowboys fans worldwide, have been oppressed by an over controlling, delusional, oppressive dictator for way too long. Request the Executive Branch’s immediate assistance in removal of owner and GM, Jerry Jones. His incompetence and ego have not only been an extreme disappointment for way too long, but moreover, it has caused extreme mental and emotional duress.”
At the time of this article writing, the petition has been since removed from the White House website, but not before 412 people signed the petition.
I will say this for the gentleman in Georgia, being a PE teacher I would give you an “A” for effort. It was a nice try, but we all know that the “oppressive dictator” is not going to release his hold on the greatest commodity in sports history, the Dallas Cowboys. The fans can sympathize with you; this season has been a nightmare of sorts. Seeing our beloved Cowboys sitting at 5-6 rather than the expected 8-3 is a little hard to swallow.
The message to Jerry Jones…the Cowboy fans has had enough of you!
The Cowboys could win out and go 10-6, but the likelihood of getting to the playoffs will most likely have to have some type of help from a team or two. Who really knows? The likelihood of the Cowboys winning out are looking pretty slim.
Demarco Murray is expected to make his return from a lengthy foot injury against the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday night. How that will come into play is uncertain, Head Coach Jason Garrett has basically pulled the plug on the running game with the team only running 9 times last game. With the emergence of Murray coming back from the injured list, we could possibly see the return of the running game. As many fans have pointed out and have seen, it is not just the running back though. Our offensive line has been pretty dismal of late. Doug Free was doing pretty well on not getting penalized, but has slipped every so often. Those “every so often’s” have been costly on drive after drive.
Cowboys’ fans have had enough of that.
The Dallas Cowboy’s offense ranks number 9 in the NFL while the defense ranks in at number 8. Both squads are ranked in the top ten and we are still 5-6? To borrow a few words from the late great Al Davis, “just win baby” translates to simply “just play 4 quarters”. Quarterback Tony Romo and the rest of the offense show their spirit and heart but it usually after the 1st quarter. In the meantime, they continually irritate fans so much by then; those fans have changed the channel to watch “Hansel and Gretel.” Defensively, we are holding our own, but by games end they are one tired unit. Tell me if I am wrong, but it seems that the offense puts out more three and outs then points, thus, sending our defensive unit out on to the field once again. After repeated instances of those dreaded three and outs, or the interceptions being thrown; your defense is going to tire very quickly.
Dallas fans have had enough of that.
It is time that the Cowboys start working on getting better immediately on all phases of the game; it is something fans have been clamoring for. Continue to find better pieces for the offensive line and get our receivers to keep working on getting those key catches. At this point of the season, every catch is a key catch. Get a sense of urgency on the offensive side of the ball. Some of our best football has been out of the no-huddle, utilize that and get those points on the board. And most of all, the Dallas Cowboys need to play 4 quarters.
