Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Tony Romo is a team player. Unfortunately last night he seemed as if he was playing for both teams. Tony Romo went 31-43 for 307 yards and threw three touchdowns but two were scores on the Bears scoreboard. Romo had 5 interceptions last night which led to a 34-18 smashing by the Bears. The game was embarrassing, not only to the team but to the fans of Americas Team as well.
This year Romo has thrown 8 interception in only 4 games. He only threw 10 in all of last season. With a 5-8 touchdown-interception ratio it appears that 2012 may be the year that Tony Romo does not get better. For the last 5 years his QB rating has raised every season but this is by far his worst start yet. If his touchdown-interception rate doesn’t start looking like it did in the season opener then the team will most likely lose all hopes for the playoffs, and Romo just may be the next Bledsoe in Dallas.
It may not be exactly panic time but it is getting close. Hopefully the ‘Boys will be able to regroup during the off week and get the offense dialed in. The Bye week couldn’t have came at a better time but Dallas needs to put this game behind them and focus on Baltimore. The Ravens are one of the best teams on the Cowboys schedule and a win there could bring this team back to life. If the team isn’t revived then Garrett may be looking for a new team before the season ends.
Multiple problems need solving on this team, quarterback isn’t the only one. This team needs a week of no attention brought on them and a serious gut check. 2-2 is not a start for a playoff run, but week six is a great time to start one and this team know it. I believe it is not as ugly for this team as it seems. Romo just needs to relax and realize that this team needs a smart accurate passer, not a great one. Him trying to hard could kill this team.
