The H.M. “Howling Mad” Murdock Award is given to the player whose play might be deemed as a little mentally unstable. Their crazy actions could have caused the game to go either way, but in this case, it helped the team attain victory.
And the winner is…Wideout Dez Bryant. Raving on the sidelines like a crazy man? Check. Wanting the ball on every down? Check. Making the play that sealed the victory for the Cowboys? Check. Bryant was clearly frustrated on Sunday, as evidenced by his tirade on the sideline with wide receiver coach Jimmy Robinson. But he ended up recorded six catches for 62 yards and made a spectacular game sealing 44 yard punt return late in the fourth quarter. Amid his off-field troubles and immaturity issues, Bryant proved Sunday that he can still be a game-breaker. And that’s something this anemic Cowboys’ offense needs desperately.
