The Templeton “Faceman” Peck Award is given to the player who was a smooth operator that played under the radar. He’s the kind of player who walks in the stadium with an innocent smile, and walks out with the opponent’s heart…while it’s still beating.
And the winner is…Linebacker DeMarcus Ware. The word pressure in the dictionary has a new one word definition: Ware. Arguably the best defensive player in the league showed once again why he deserves that title. Ware’s not flashy, he’s just constant. And his constant barrage on the Bucs offensive line and quarterback Josh Freeman was probably the single biggest reason the Cowboys pulled out a victory. He recorded two sacks, five tackles and two forced fumbles. The man is smooth and cold as ice. Pass rush, thy name is DeMarcus.
