Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks Game Preview

The Dallas Cowboys head into Seattle, Washington to play the Seattle Seahawks later today.  This should once again be a good game especially playing in Qwest Field.

The main keys to winning this game against Seattle especially with Seattle having the “12th man” or home field advantage is going to be offensive play calling.  Head coach Jason Garrett needs to continue to run the ball, as he did in the game 10-days ago against the New York Giants.  Clock management is going to be huge in keeping the momentum swinging in the Cowboys direction, meaning the more the Cowboys offense is on the field, the less the crowd is involved, hopefully.  Balanced play calling will keep the defense on the field and adding in the running game will tire the Seahawks defense out faster.  DeMarco Murray will need to have another great game as he did in New York.  The run game will also once again assist Dallas quarterback Tony Romo in not having to throw the ball a lot and with the defensive tackles the Seahawks have, throwing the ball more than running won’t help Dallas win this game.

Another key to winning this game is to keep the offensive line together.  After a sloppy start against the New York Giants, the offensive line looked much better in the second half.  With the crowd noise,  Romo and center Ryan Cook need to be on the same page, the ball needs to be snapped according to the plays called and without so many delay of game penalties.  The offensive line together needs to stop the false start penalties and a silent count will be necessary to keep the offensive line on track.  The offensive line needs to continue to give a good pocket and they need to give Romo time to throw.

Defensively, pressure on the Seahawks rookie quarterback Russell Wilson and a solid secondary should keep their offensive in check.  Look for linebackers DeMarcus Ware and Sean Lee to have big games.  The Cowboys defense also can’t allow Wilson to use himself to convert big third down plays.

This game should once again be a good nail biting game as is the pattern with the Garrett regime.  This bloggers prediction is Cowboys over Seahawks 24-17.
