Round 3:

The Prospects:

Jamell Flemming, CB, OU

Brandon Boykin, CB, UGA

Ben Jones, C, UGA

Juron Criner, WR, Arizona

The Analysis:

Jamell Flemming- Flemming is another underrated cornerback.  The Cowboys have already met with him and the rumors are that they really like this prospect.  Flemming is a great zone cover corner but could definitely improve his fundamentals.  He is a sure and confident tackler and has good recovery speed.

Brandon Boykin- I had Boykin going to Dallas in January in the 2nd so I’m pretty excited that he’s available here.  Boykin isn’t a great cornerback naturally but his work ethic and physicality makes him a conerback with great potential.  He played on offense, defense, and special teams at Georgia and would be a great addition to Dallas.

Ben Jones- At one point considered the best center of this class Jones has slipped a little.  Most people identify Jones as a quick center with great instincts.  He does everything well and has been constantly matched up against tough opponents with success.  The Cowboys could be looking for an upgrade here soon and this isn’t bad value.

Juron Crinor- Crinor isn’t an explosive receiver, but has good speed and excellent hands.  He has good size and is a willing blocker in the running game.  The Cowboys could be looking at receiver due to the loss of Robinson.

The Pick:

Oct 1, 2011; Norman, OK, USA; Ball State Cardinals tight end David Schneider (89) is tackled by Oklahoma Sooners linebacker Travis Lewis (28), linebacker Tom Wort (21), and cornerback Jamell Flemming (32) during the first half at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. With the 81st pick of the NFL draft the Cowboys select… Jamell Flemming, CB, OU.

I like Boykin best here but I think Rob Ryan will like Flemming as a guy here.  This is really good value because of his natural talent and underrated ability.  Flemming is a guy who can be an excellent weapon in the near future.
