Levy Adcock, OT Oklahoma state
The Cowboys are severely lacking depth at the Offensive Tackle position. The only backup player on the roster is Parnell, who was a career basketball player with only 1 year of experience as a football player in college, (in his whole life for that matter). To me this is a risk in the event Free or Smith get injured. The Cowboys need to add some depth at the position regardless. If there has been one thing missing up front it has been some “NASTY” and if you watch Adcock play, he definitely brings a whole lot of that!
Adcock was a 2011 All Big 12 Football First Team selection (as voted by the coaches). He was a 3 sport star in High school and won numerous awards. He didn’t do much as a sophomore, but won a starting job in 2010 as a Jr where he was A First Team All Big 12 selection, and a unanimous selection to the AP 1st team. He started every game and made a mid game switch to LT against OU and didn’t allow a single sack in fact, only 1 over the last 6 games of the season. He seemed to become the teams best lineman. He won offensive lineman of the week 5 times. To me this is another gem that has fallen through the cracks. He has the size strength and athleticism coveted by NFL teams and due to his size he has the potential to move inside and play guard.
Good natural athleticism, knee bend and fluid lateral movement to mirror college defensive ends. Willing to attack and punches multiple times to finish the play. Quick to pick up edge blitz and shows no panic, easily adjusting angles and resetting his feet. Can recover and reset his anchor. Rarely late off the snap. CBSsports
Adcock was still at RT in the beginning of this video, but switches to LT mid game.
I have a lot more players coming up in future stories. I need to spread this out until the beginning of training camp, so I will only do a few at a time, check back periodically to catch the rest of the sleepers.
