Ideal size and physique for an NFL safety at 6’1, 214. Did not participate at the NFL Combine due to recovery from injury. Ran 4.56 40-yard dash at second Alabama Pro Day. Coach Nick Saban claimed he was still only around 85% in his recovery. Known as a smart player with great instincts and solid character. Receives unanimous high praise from coaches and teammates alike. Very hard worker in film room, practice, and games.
Excellent motor and overall skills package. Puts in much time studying opponents and weekly game plan. Vocal team leader and field general that leads by emotion and example. Started in every Alabama regular season game since winning the job to begin his sophomore year (39 games). 2-time NCAA National Champion, Alabama Class 5A Football State Champion, Alabama Class 5A Track & Field State Champion.
“My style of play? I really don’t know how to describe it, I just do whatever has got to be done. I like to hit. Since I was six years old that’s the way I was taught to play the game, we are gonna hit somebody and make it hurt.”
“We played in a very difficult defense,” Barron said of the Crimson Tide. ”We did a lot of different schemes. As far as communicating, I had a lot to do with that on the back end. I feel like sometimes I brought some energy with the hits that I made and things of that nature. So, I did a lot of different things.”
