Five Dallas Players to Watch During Sunday's Cowboys vs. Giants Game

Tony Romo:  Romo didn’t play a bad game last weekend, but the Cowboys didn’t win so he has heard the criticism all week. Romo is playing a very good Giants team this week, and this is the week to make a statement. He is getting one of his big weapons back in Miles Austin, so that should open up the passing game even more. One thing I would like to see from Romo this weekend is getting Witten more involved, he seemed to have gone away from the tight end the last few weeks.

Miles Austin:
With his return can he stay healthy? The last time Austin returned from an injury he didn’t last long before re-injuring himself. The Cowboys and Austin have been lucky that the emergence of Robinson has allowed for Austin to take his time recovery and not rush back. Austin will return to his role as the number 1 or 2 receiver for the Cowboys, but he won’t be asked to do near as much with Robinson playing the way he has been. I am looking for Austin to have a nice return but most importantly play an entire game without getting hurt.

Laurent Robinson:
With the return of Miles Austin I see Robinson’s role decreasing a little bit but I still see him playing a huge role for the Cowboys. With the Giants game being as big as it is the Cowboys need all the weapons they can find. Robinson has been slowed this week with a shoulder injury but I don’t see that affecting him too much. I am excited to see Robinson, Austin, Bryant and Witten on the field together; it will sure make Romo’s job a whole lot easier. I see Robinson’s role decreasing a bit but I still want to see him involved in the offense and making the big plays late.

Defense

Rob Ryan:
What has happened to your defense and is the defense we saw early in the season every coming back? The Cowboys defense has been downright embarrassing the last three weeks and the Boys have been lucky to have only lost one of those games. Rob Ryan early this season threw the kitchen sink at teams and his defense was one of the best in the league, however since the great performance against the 49ers the defense has disappeared and let teams like the Dolphins and Cardinals score at will. I want to see the Rob Ryan defense we had early in the season and get after Eli Manning, because if they don’t it might be a long afternoon for the Boys.

Kicking

Dan Bailey:
I am giving Bailey a mulligan after the week he had in Arizona, now I will be the first to kill a kicker for missing a kick but Bailey has won more games this year than he has lost for the Boys. In my opinion that loss on Sunday fell on Jason Garrett and the defense not on Bailey. I still have all the faith in the world in Bailey as he has been spot on all year and just happened to have a really bad game on Sunday. I see Bailey bouncing back and making all his field goals this week.
