Reason #2: Previous Team Cuts

One thing Coach Garrett is not afraid to do, is cut under-performing players. This year alone, Garrett and the Cowboys’ Front Office have released big names like Marion Barber, Roy Williams, Sam Hurd, Leonard Davis, Andre Gurode, and Tashard Choice. The new regime in Dallas has proved one thing: they are solely interested in results, regardless of any past glory. If you want results at the running back position, obviously Murray’s your man. And frankly, Jones has not had enough in the way of past glories to justify starting him anyway, but his value has always been more about potential and not necessarily results.  The time is coming when potential will not be enough for Jones.
