Rookie DeMarco Murray stole the show today in Big D as the Dallas Cowboys defeated the winless St. Louis Rams, 34-7 in a blowout victory. Murray rushed for a record 253 yards and solidified his place as the Cowboys’ new starting running back. Dallas jumped out of the gates early in the 1st Quarter as Murray exploded for a 91 yard touchdown run on his very first play from scrimmage. It was the longest run the Cowboys have had all year and the longest in the NFL. Murray’s run was also the second largest run in Dallas Cowboy history. The [...]
Inactives List: Dallas Cowboys vs. St. Louis Rams
When the Dallas Cowboys face off against the St. Louis Rams today, they’ll be without some key players. The Cowboys list of inactives include G Daniel Loper, G David Arkin, K David Buehler, G Derrick Dockery, RB Felix Jones, DE Jason Hatcher, QB Stephen McGee. Loper was acquired earlier this week as insurance for the offensive line with the season ending injury to G Bill Nagy last week. Montrae Holland was also signed this week. It’s expected that Holland will start against the Rams. The Rams list of inactives include LB Ben Leber, WR Brandon Gibson, CB Brian Jackson, DE [...]
Many expected Dallas Cowboy Rookie DeMarco Murray to get the start against the St. Louis Rams this afternoon. But according to this tweet from Cowboy Insider Josh Ellis, RB Tashard Choice will get the start instead: @DCStarJEllis (Josh Ellis) – Tashard Choice will start at running back for the #Cowboys. Despite Choice getting the start, it’s expected for both running backs to get plenty of opportunities against the Ram’s terrible run defense. But to give the starting nod to Choice bolds well for the Boy’s confidence in him. This after he lost a key fumble and failed to convert a [...]
One of the great things about working at The Landry Hat, and the Fansided Sports Network, is our access to different experts. Since our network has a site for every NFL team, I’d thought I’d get an insider’s take on the upcoming Dallas Cowboys vs. St. Louis Rams Sunday match-up from behind enemy lines. Therefore, I present these in-depth questions with the Lead Writer of our St. Louis Ram’s blog, The Ramblin’ Fan, Justin Stine: LH: How do you think A.J. Feely will play today? JS: I would expect Feeley to manage the game fairly well. He is a veteran [...]
An Open Letter To Cowboys Fans: Expect NOTHING
So this game is going to be easy, right? The Rangers aren’t exactly having an easy time with St. Louis, but the Cowboys surely will. How could they not? The Rams are a winless bunch, losers of 6 straight regular season games. They also have a very tall hill to climb against a good defense without their starting quarterback, Sam Bradford, who has been ruled out with a high ankle sprain. The Cowboys are at home and are due for a good offensive output against a poor defense. The talk all week has been that the boys refuse to look [...]
Dallas Cowboys vs St. Louis Rams Preview: Offense
For those of you who look forward to my weekly preview with eager anticipation, I apologize for being late this week. A very close friend got married, so I have been busy with the stag and wedding. Congratulations and best of luck to Rayshack and MinJoo. (GO All-Blacks!!!!) Writer’s update: The New Zealand All-Blacks did indeed win the World Cup. As the Dallas Cowboys prepare to play the St. Louis Rams, it is a bit of a shock that it is the offense that is losing games. After the horrendous performance by the defense last year, I don’t think even [...]
It appears as if the Dallas Cowboys will not have to deal with the St. Louis Ram’s starting quarterback and last year’s offensive rookie of the year under center tomorrow. QB Sam Bradford has been officially ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys. Bradford injured his ankle during last week’s loss to the Green Bay Packers. Bradford’s injury was later diagnosed as a high left ankle sprain and the 2nd year player didn’t practice all week. In his place will be 10 year veteran A.J. Feeley. Prior to St. Louis, Feeley played for both the Miami Dolphins and the [...]
Dallas Cowboys vs. St. Louis Rams Game Predictions
Every week we ask all of The Landry Hat writers and contributors to submit their predictions for the upcoming game and their reasons why. This week, we asked our experts for their opinion on the Dallas Cowboys vs. the St. Louis Rams game on Sunday. Steven Mullenax, Editor & Head Writer: Although this is a “must” win for the Cowboys, it’s also a “no win” situation. If the Boys win, they did what they should have done and move on. If they lose, there will be an explosion of fan hate so large even Montrae Holland couldn’t eat it. The [...]
DeMarco Murray: Can he be the running back the Cowboys have been missing all season? Felix Jones has not lived up to the number 1 running back status he said he would in the offseason. There have been plenty of times this season when the Cowboys have needed to run the ball for a touchdown or first down and Jones has not got the job done. Murray got a good amount of action in the New England game and has become the go to guy ahead of Tashard Choice. Murray has the chance to prove he can not only do [...]
Normally, we stick to only Dallas Cowboy related news on TLH. But occasionally, stories come across the wire that might just interest us as football fans. As an example, I submit this story: All-Pro cornerback and Week One Cowboy killer Darrelle Revis recently got into a heated argument with obnoxious radio host, Mike Francesa. Francesa kept harping on Revis’ record setting interception from Monday night’s New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphin game, claiming a penalty should have been called on him. Revis gets down right irate and ends up being instructed to hung up on the live show by a [...]
