What I Am Looking For During And After The Bye Week!!

Tony Romo: Which Tony Romo will we get in Week 6? Romo has shown us early in the season the two sides of him: we got the good Romo who led us to victories against San Fran and Washington, and the bad Romo that cost us games against the Jets and Lions. Now we all know Romo is still going to be injured going into week 6 but his injury isn’t what has hurt us, it’s the gun-slinging, interception throwing that kills us. Now Romo being aggressive is something that both helps the Cowboys and hurts us; I don’t want him to not be aggressive, but I want to see him not make the dumb decisions that hurt us and cost us games.

Miles Austin: Can he play and how effective will he be? It has been evident the last two weeks that the Cowboys need Austin back and badly. Bryant has not been overly effective and Witten is being covered up because everyone knows that he is Romo’s favorite target. Austin showed just how dangerous he could be in the 49ers game; with Romo hurt, Austin could be just the weapon he needs. However, Austin has to be fully healthy if he comes back, no more of this play a game and sit two, we need him from here on out.

Felix Jones: Can he become the established back that the Cowboys need? The biggest question I had last week was why with the 21 point lead were they not running the ball? Then it hit me, we don’t have the running back to kill the clock. Jones needs to prove that he is a running back that the Cowboys can ride the entire season.

Defense

The Secondary: Can they recover from the beating that Calvin Johnson put on them? The secondary did a good job for a half of at least containing Johnson and then all hell broke lose. The entire secondary needs to step up and they have a big task ahead of them next week with Tom Brady and Company coming to town.

Rob Ryan: How will his defense respond after last week’s game? Now I know the loss to the Lions wasn’t all the defense’s fault, most falls on the shoulders of Tony Romo. However, the defense needed to be better on the two touchdown drives down the stretch. I am interested to see how and if Ryan can motivate his guys against the Patriots.
