Redskins give Stephen Bowen an absurd contract

Dan Snyder is at it again. After picking up a herd of overpriced veteran receivers over the last couple of days, he continued his overspending at another position. This time it was to the Cowboys’ detriment. It was just announced that they have signed former Cowboy Stephen Bowen to a 5 year, $27.5 million contract with $12.5 guaranteed. Let me repeat that: Stephen Bowen just got nearly $30 freaking million from the Redskins! I was hoping that the Cowboys would re-sign Bowen, but at that price, I’d rather have forty-four year-old Tony Tolbert starting. It’s good to know nothing has changed in D.C.

Also, Jason Hatcher is reportedly visiting the Broncos today. While losing both Hatcher and Bowen would be somewhat disconcerting, the ‘Boys probably wouldn’t let them both walk if they didn’t have another plan for defensive line. Cullen Jenkins is a name that has been getting me excited.
