Terrelle Pryor Leaves Ohio State

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: Comments Off

Well, this really comes as no surprise. Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor has left the team. Pryor was facing a five game suspension for receiving impermissible benefits. Columbus attorney Larry James said the quarterback will look at all options. I know this is a Cowboys blog and Terrelle Pryor’s decision does not directly affect the team, but it could potentially be a big story when it comes to the NFL. If Pryor decides to pass on his final year of college eligibility and try to enter the NFL, the league is in an awkward situation. What about the supplemental draft? Well, no [...]

Jerry Jones Tried Bringing Boxing Back To Cowboys Stadium

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Despite the current NFL Lockout, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is actively seeking ways to keep busy and fill the seats at his billion dollar palace. Most recently, Jones attempted to host another big time boxing match but those plans fell through. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. will face WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz on September 17, the same weekend that the Cowboys will (hopefully) be flying out to San Francisco. Mayweather was a guest of Jones’ during the Super Bowl on February 6. Despite Jones’ efforts, it appears that Mayweather will be fighting against Ortiz in Las Vegas — perhaps Jones [...]

Could Quintin Mikell Solve Cowboys Safety Problems?

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: Comments Off

Going into April’s draft one of the biggest area’s of concern for the Cowboys and their fans was the secondary. Now as the lockout continues and the season remains on hold the secondary will still be a big question mark once free agency begins. Another name that has been thrown out there in recent days as a possible targeted free agent is current Eagles safety Quintin Mikell. Mikell is unlikely to resign with the Eagles once the lock out is over and would be a good fit with the Cowboys at safety. Mikell was signed as an undrafted free agent [...]

Free-Agent Linebacker Matt Roth Would Follow Rob Ryan To Dallas

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: Comments Off

Cleveland Browns linebacker Matt Roth generated a lot of buzz today with some comments he made regarding new Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. Roth played for Ryan in Cleveland’s 3-4 defense, but with Ryan’s departure and the Browns reverting back to a 4-3 defense. The move back to the 4-3 is not a move that Roth seems fond of. The free-agent linebacker says he would rather play outside linebacker in a 3-4 than stay in Cleveland with the new defensive scheme. The link between Roth and the Cowboys was made whenever he delivered this high praise for the defensive [...]

Jerry Jones Is The Life Of The Party

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: Comments Off

Last week, the NFLPA and owners gathered for what were supposed to be secret meetings. The meetings were held at the Hotel Baker in St. Charles, Illinois in an effort to come closer to an agreement. The meetings were held for multiple days and once the word of these meetings leaked out and the media was aware of them, there was a specific NFL owner who decided to leave — Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Jones apparently wanted to listen to music. Hotel manager Rowena Salas told Jones to check out McNally’s Irish Pub. He was at the pub for a [...]

There is no question that the weakness of the Dallas Cowboys defense last season was the secondary. It is already being reported that the Cowboys will be looking to bolster their secondary when the free agency period finally picks up by going after a safety. , but there is another player who will be under fire — cornerback Mike Jenkins.
