Rob Ryan Ranks Among League’s Top Up-And-Coming Assistant Coaches

The latest ESPN power rankings focused on up-and-coming assistant coaches in the NFL. Every year a handful of assistant coaches are interviewed for head coaching vacancies so the ESPN writers came up with a list of assistants that could soon be on their way to receiving a head coaching gig.

Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan came in second place on the list. Ryan was the recipient of two first place votes. Only New York Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell received more first place votes. Here is the complete top ten list:

2. Rob Ryan, Cowboys
3. Brian Schottenheimer, Jets
4. Russ Grimm, Cardinals
5. Dirk Koetter, Jaguars
6. Winston Moss, Packers
7. Greg Olson, Buccaneers
8. Rob Chudzinski, Panthers
9. Bill O’Brien, Patriots
10. Darren Perry, Packers
