Terrelle Pryor Leaves Ohio State

Is Terrelle Pryor going to be the NFL's headache now?

Well, this really comes as no surprise. Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor has left the team. Pryor was facing a five game suspension for receiving impermissible benefits.

Columbus attorney Larry James said the quarterback will look at all options.

I know this is a Cowboys blog and Terrelle Pryor’s decision does not directly affect the team, but it could potentially be a big story when it comes to the NFL. If Pryor decides to pass on his final year of college eligibility and try to enter the NFL, the league is in an awkward situation.

What about the supplemental draft? Well, no one really knows if a supplemental draft is going to happen. The NFL seems to think the previous labor deal still permits a supplemental draft, but there is no certainty. The other option for Pryor is to file a lawsuit a la Maurice Clarett — we all know how that worked out for him.

One thing is for certain: Pryor will be in the headlines a lot in the coming weeks. What will his decision be and how will it affect the NFL?

Pryor sure did screw up his college career with his immaturity, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that I will be paying attention to his future. The now former Buckeye has all of the physical talent you could want in a player, but he doesn’t seem to have the brain. Sound familiar? Just look at the 2011 number one pick.
