“I didn’t spend $1.2 billion to build a stadium and not have the Cowboys playing football in it this year. In general, the response of our ticket holders, the response of our suite holders, the response of all of our constituencies has been they have been and are expecting us to play football. It’s pointless to talk about progress. That’s not the way you measure anything. You can say you don’t have anything until you have a total agreement. … We’ll make sure we sit down and work it out in a way that keeps our great game what it is. This [...]
NFL Coaches Concerned With Lockout Uncertainty
Even though the Dallas Cowboys have been working out twice a week at an undisclosed location, the players are not getting the full effects and benefits of a team organized workout. Without official gatherings, the players are missing out on preparation and NFL coaches are concerned about what the 2011 NFL product will look like on the field. Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid didn’t hold back when voicing his concerns. ”The further it goes in [to preparation], the worse the product,” Eagles coach Andy Reid said. “No matter how you cut this thing, you need time in practice. You’re bringing [...]
Is Tony Romo A ‘Super Bowl Quarterback?’
The big criticism that many have for Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Tony Romo is that he struggles late in the season and hasn’t shown a consistent ability to win the big game. Those concerns are a big reason why many people were left scratching their head after former Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach said he believes Romo has what it takes to win it all. “He hasn’t been the problem,” Staubach said. “He’s done unbelievable. He’s right at the top of the NFL as far as a quarterback — as far as his statistics and the things he does. He moves [...]
While some players are busy staying in shape during the NFL Lockout, others are out keeping their name in the headlines. Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco recently threw his hat into the bull riding mix. This comes a few short months after Eight Five participated in a reserves match with Sporting Kansas City of the MLS. Say what you want about the controversial wideout, but you cannot deny he is an entertainer. Riding a bull in the offseason may have not been the brightest idea, especially for his health, but Ochocinco put it all aside for a quick pay day [...]

Tyron Smith Not Present At Cowboys Workout
The Dallas Cowboys are continuing to participate in player organized workouts. At least 40 players have been brought together by starting quarterback Tony Romo for the sessions. One high-profile player, Dez Bryant, was not originally participating in the workouts but he came around and joined last week. The past few days, high-profile player is not attending the workouts — Cowboys first round draft pick, Tyron Smith. Smith has not shown up for the workouts, despite being invited by Romo. Instead, working out with his agent, Joe Panos, in Milwaukee. Panos is a former NFL offensive lineman who played for the [...]
