Division Rival Banter Begins

During this time of the NFL off season when the speed of activities and news involving football has slowed to that of a snails pace. Columnists and bloggers alike are looking for anything and everything to talk about football related. Anything of note can be deemed news worthy. So here is a playful little tidbit that comes to us via the worldwide web. It appears that one of the newest members of the division rival Washington Redskins is all ready running over at the mouth about our beloved Dallas Cowboys.

5th round selection in this years NFL draft Nebraska DB, Dejon Gomes has taken an IQ test in which the answer to the lone question asked was a shot across the bow of the Dallas Cowboys stadium and the team that resides there in.

When told by sports radio station ESPN 980 host DocWalker: “All right, let me do word association. I’m gonna give you an IQ test. I’ll say a word, you tell me what the first reaction to it is. Dallas Cowboys.”

Gomes replied, “Losers”.

Now without leaving well enough alone there is definitely something to be said in reference to a player IQ tests being no longer than a single question long. Especially when it comes to a division rival’s team player IQ test. In the nature of fun and good natured ribbing let’s hope, as Cowboys fans that on Monday night September the 26th, Gomes has made the team and is welcomed into the NFL by the Cowboys driving down on the Redskins and punctuating the drive with a spectacular touchdown grab, from Tony Romo to any of the superb receiving options, over the top of Dejon Gomes for the victory. Now that would truly be a spectacle.

Dejon Gomes may also want to check the stats because since the 2000 season Dallas has dominated the series 15-7. Gomes may also want to look around FedEx Field a bit as ex-Redskin Willie Parker says about the players there in Washington, “They don’t care about winning.”
