Jets head coach Rex Ryan will be going head to head with his brother Rob when the Cowboys and Jets face-off in New Jersey on September 11th. The game will take place on the ten-year anniversary of the tragic attacks on New York City and Washington, DC.
For that reason, Rex has said he will tone down his trash talk leading up to the game. He has said he does not want to disrespect the day.
“I feel honored that we’re going to be playing right there in our stadium,” Ryan told reporters Tuesday night via the Newark Star-Ledger. “It’s obviously going to be an emotional night for everybody, not just in New York/New Jersey, but in the whole country.”
One thing is for sure: even with the toned down trash talk, there will be a lot of anticipation for this game between two of the league’s biggest draws. Hopefully the NFL can settle it’s issues and deliver us the games that we want to see.
