There are reports today that the Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Rams could be discussing a trade for the number 9 overall pick, which the Cowboys currently hold. Todd McShay was the first to bring up the potential trade.
The Rams sit with the 14th pick in the first round and would like to jump into the top ten to draft Alabama wideout Julio Jones, who could be selected by the Redskins at pick ten. To move from 14 to 9, the Rams would likely have to give up their third round (78th overall) pick.
While this remains a rumor, the move would work out very well for the Cowboys. Dallas has previously discussed their desire to trade down. Moving down to 14 would allow the Cowboys to draft a top offensive lineman and then add another premium pick in the third round.
For the Cowboys sake, I hope this trade goes down.
