Garrett went 5-3 during the second half of the season and the team really responded well to his message. Garrett brought a sense of toughness and accountability to the team that it lacked under the Wade Phillips era. It is now your [...]

It didn’t take long for Wade Phillips to recover from his failure as the Dallas Cowboys head coach. The AFC South’s Houston Texans hired Phillips today to become the team’s third defensive coordinator under current head coach Gary Kubiak. The Texans, like the Cowboys, had an atrocious secondary and defense. They will be praying for a miracle that Phillips will be able to do in Houston what he couldn’t in Dallas. An interesting thing to follow with the hiring of Phillips will be the defensive scheme of the Texans. They have primarily been a 4-3 team and Phillips has made his name [...]
Jason Garrett Enjoys Working With Jerry Jones
The top characteristic that many people believe Jerry Jones is looking for in the next head coach is someone who he can make his puppet. We all know that Jerry likes to be in control and that is one reason it seems Jason Garrett is the perfect fit as the next Cowboys coach. Jones personality and lack of willingness to give up control scares off some of the bigger name coaching candidates, so a guy like Garrett is just what the owner ordered. Garrett, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to think that the owner is as controlling as the [...]
In news that will surprise no one, the Dallas Cowboys are expected to introduce Jason Garrett as the team’s next head coach later today. Jerry Jones said that a press conference is scheduled for Wednesday, and that presser will likely bring good news to Garrett. “I’m really pleased with how this has turned out, frankly, relative to these last eight ball games. I’m proud we’ve had the success we’ve had. It’s better than it could have been,” Jerry Jones said. “I think we’ll have a lot of this done by the afternoon. We probably won’t really be ready to talk [...]

A team will take on the personality of [...]
Who Will Be Defensive Coordinator In 2011?
With the expected announcement of Jason Garrett becoming the head coach seemingly right around the corner, more and more rumors are beginning to circulate about the supporting coaching staff for next season. Reports surfaced earlier today that Garrett would be interested in Wisconsin’s Paul Chryst as offensive coordinator and now there is speculation regarding the team’s next defensive coordinator. Paul Pasqualoni did an admirable job for the Cowboys once Wade Phillips was fired, but the fact remains that the defensive unit was still atrocious. That brings us to the man who could possibly fill the role. The Cowboys asked for and received [...]
Orlando Scandrick To Undergo Surgery
Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick is set to undergo surgery in a week to fix his left index finger. Scandrick initially injured his finger in OTA’s last May after deflecting a pass by backup quarterback Jon Kitna. He played the entire season — which he finished with one interception and 2.5 sacks – with a splint on the injured finger. It is nice that Scandrick will go ahead and finally get the surgery he needs to fully recover. Unfortunately for Scandrick and the Cowboys fans, he is not undergoing surgery to fix all the times he was burned this season.
Wisconsin Badgers offensive coordinator Paul Chryst has been sought after by the University of Texas this offseason. Not only do the Longhorns have interest in Chryst, but so do the Dallas Cowboys. All signs point to the Cowboys removing Jason Garrett’s interim tag, which would start the search for his staff. When Garrett was hired as the Cowboys offensive coordinator in 2007, he tried to bring Chryst in as his quarterbacks coach. The two are very good friends and there is a belief that Garrett would still want to bring Chryst in as his offensive coordinator. The two previously worked [...]
Many reports have been circling that Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys are prepared to remove the “interim” label from Jason Garrett’s title and make him the team’s next head coach. It almost seems like a foregone conclusion, but ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is not so sure. Yes, Garrett has done plenty to earn the job and the team seemed to rally around him to close off the season. However, are there more qualified and better candidates to lead our Cowboys to the next level? Mortensen examines the question in the following video: Where would you all like to see the [...]
