The Cowboys could be ready to name a new defensive coordinator by weeks end according to team sources. Calvin Watkins ESPNDallas.com reported that the Cowboys have already intreviewed Stanford Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio and are suppose to interview San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Greg Manusky sometime this week. While Jason Garrett was announced as the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, his older brother John, the Cowboys tight ends coach, could be on his way out of Valley Ranch. John Garrett is on the list of candidates the Miami Dolphins are interested in to fill the vacant offensive coordinator position that opened when former OC Dan Henning retired. Texans looking at Cowboys Linebackers Coach?
Days after hiring former Cowboys coach Wade Phillips as their new Defensive Coordinator, the Houston Texans have asked the Cowboys permisson to interview their Linebackers coach Reggie Herring. Although the Cowboys have not granted permisson to the Texans he will proably end up being interviewed eventually. Herring was the Linebackers coach from 2002-2003 for the Houston Texans, before going to NC State and being their Defensive Coordinator, he also worked at Arkansas as a Defensive Coordinator before joining the Cowboys and working under Phillips.
