It’s been speculated for a few days, but the team has finally made the news official. Rob Ryan will take over as defensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys. Ryan will keep the 3-4 scheme that fans are used to and he will bring his energetic style to a unit that needs all the help and motivation they can get.

He previously served as a coordinator for the Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders. Ryan also coached the linebackers in New England were he was part of the coaching staff on two Super Bowl winning teams. Rob, who is the twin brother of Jets head coach Rex Ryan, is expected to bring members of the coaching staffs he worked with in Oakland and Cleveland along with him to Dallas.
