Wisconsin Badgers offensive coordinator Paul Chryst has been sought after by the University of Texas this offseason. Not only do the Longhorns have interest in Chryst, but so do the Dallas Cowboys. All signs point to the Cowboys removing Jason Garrett’s interim tag, which would start the search for his staff.
When Garrett was hired as the Cowboys offensive coordinator in 2007, he tried to bring Chryst in as his quarterbacks coach. The two are very good friends and there is a belief that Garrett would still want to bring Chryst in as his offensive coordinator.
The two previously worked together with the San Antonio Riders of the World League of American Football back in the early ’90′s.
UPDATE: According to multiple sources, Paul Chryst is close to accepting the offensive coordinator job at the University of Texas.
