Madden 11 Cowboys vs. Redskins Simulation

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: Comments Off

As always, EA Sports Madden 11 simulates the upcoming week’s games. The simulation was done earlier in the week before the Shanahan’s lost all sanity and benched Donovan McNabb in favor of Rex Grossman, so obviously the simulation is flawed. Anyways, here is how EA Sports thinks the game would play out if the Redskins were actually playing their best players and trying to win. COWBOYS 23, REDSKINS 20 With the Redskins up 20-16 and under a minute left on the clock, Jon Kitna leads the Cowboys on their best drive of the season, capping things off with a game-winning [...]

2011 NFL Draft: Cowboys In Prime Position To Trade Down

AUTHOR: | IN: Draft | COMMENTS: 9 Comments

As the season comes to an end and the draft season starts up, many fans and analysts alike start determining what they believe teams should do. The draft can make or break a team, so every decision is crucial. If the draft were to be held tomorrow, Dallas would hold a top ten pick — likely pick 6 or 7. With a huge need at offensive line and the strong possibility that top cornerbacks Patrick Peterson of LSU and Nebraska’s Prince Amukamara will be gone, Dallas is in a perfect position to trade down. In fact, ESPN draft analyst Mel [...]

Cowboys Get Early Christmas Present From The Redskins

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

When news came out this morning that the Washington Redskins benched quarterback Donovan McNabb in favor of Rex Grossman, Cowboys fans were very ecstatic. I mean, c’mon, Rex Grossman? Yes, the same Rex Grossman that has thrown 33 touchdowns and 36 interceptions in his career. No one with any ounce of sanity can tell you that Grossman is a better option than McNabb, which is why not only the Cowboys fans, but the Cowboys players were happy about the move. “Everybody started smiling,” defensive end Jason Hatcher said.  “We were pretty happy about the news. . . .  We’ll take Rex [...]

Randy Moss Rips Jeff Fisher On Radio?

AUTHOR: | IN: Off-Topic/Other | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

In a very amusing story reported by SPORTSbyBROOKS, Tennessee Titans wide receiver Randy Moss seems to have taken to the radio waves to rip his head coach Jeff Fisher. A caller named “Woody” was on 104.5 The Zone yesterday and had some harsh criticism for the Titans head coach. Woody said, “If Jeff Fisher was the coach of (University of) Tennessee, with his record? What about when he fired Norm Chow by telephone and everybody’s dogging Vince (Young) but not him (Fisher)? …. I don’t like Fisher”

Rex Grossman To Start Over Donovan McNabb; Thank You, Shanahan

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Wow. That is all I can say. There have been many puzzling moves this NFL season, but perhaps two have come from the poorly run Washington Reskins franchise.  We all know of the Albert Haynesworth fiasco, but now there is something even bigger… the Redskins have benched Donovan McNabb (again) and Rex Grossman will get the start against Dallas. This will be Grossman’s first start since 2008. It is being reported that many players are upset with the decision to go with Grossman and the way in which the coaching staff has handled the situation. At this point, odds favor [...]

Tony Romo Making Moves Off The Field; Engaged To Candice Crawford

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: Comments Off

For those who care about this kind of stuff, starting quarterback Tony Romo has been making big moves off of the field while recovering from his broken collarbone. Romo is now an engaged man. Romo popped the question to 24-year-old Candice Crawford who is a sports reporter for KDAF-TV and the sister of an apparently famous actor named Chace. One of Romo’s previous relationships gaine a lot of scrutiny among the fans and media. That was the attrocity named Jessica Simpson. Thankfully for everyone involved, Crawford covers the sport so should have some sense of knowledge and we shouldn’t be [...]

Sam Hurd Is Ready To Step Up And Fill No. 3 Receiver Void

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: Comments Off

Thanks to unfortunate injuries to rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant and Kevin Ogletree, the Dallas Cowboys are counting on Sam Hurd to step up and fill in the number three receiver spot. “I want to fill that void to make sure we don’t lose a step,” Hurd said. “You want to know people are counting on you and you want to make sure you’re reliable for the rest of the team. I don’t look at that as a bad thing. I know my job. I know my role and I know the team is bigger than me. Whatever they ask me [...]

Who Will Lead The Redskins Into Dallas: McNabb or Grossman?

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: Comments Off

Mike Shanahan has handled starting quarterback Donovan McNabb questionably since the start of the season. It reached a boiling point when McNabb was benched earlier in the season and then last week when Jay Glazer reported Shanahan split first team reps between McNabb and Rex Grossman. The Redskins starting quarterback has not yet been named, but it appears that Grossman may be the potential lead man according to ESPN’s Chris Mortnesen. Kelli Johnson of CSN says, not so fast my friends. While she is also hearing that Grossman could start from unnamed team sources, her source told her, “I don’t [...]
