When news came out this morning that the Washington Redskins benched quarterback Donovan McNabb in favor of Rex Grossman, Cowboys fans were very ecstatic. I mean, c’mon, Rex Grossman? Yes, the same Rex Grossman that has thrown 33 touchdowns and 36 interceptions in his career.
No one with any ounce of sanity can tell you that Grossman is a better option than McNabb, which is why not only the Cowboys fans, but the Cowboys players were happy about the move.
“Everybody started smiling,” defensive end Jason Hatcher said. “We were pretty happy about the news. . . . We’ll take Rex over McNabb any day.”
Seriously, who wouldn’t rather face Grossman?
“[McNabb's] hard to contain,” Hatcher said. “He’s hard to bring down and he can make plays with his legs and his arm. Not taking anything away from Rex Grossman, I think he’s a good quarterback also.”
Again, I would like to thank the Washington Redskins, Mike Shanahan, and Kyle Shanahan for making the Cowboys job a lot easier on Sunday. No one wants to be in the NFC East’s basement. All team’s try their best to win… unless they are the Redskins and starting Rex Grossman.
