Mike Shanahan has handled starting quarterback Donovan McNabb questionably since the start of the season. It reached a boiling point when McNabb was benched earlier in the season and then last week when Jay Glazer reported Shanahan split first team reps between McNabb and Rex Grossman.
The Redskins starting quarterback has not yet been named, but it appears that Grossman may be the potential lead man according to ESPN’s Chris Mortnesen.
Kelli Johnson of CSN says, not so fast my friends. While she is also hearing that Grossman could start from unnamed team sources, her source told her, “I don’t think that’s true.”
Obviously the Cowboys would enjoy seeing Grossman line up under center. Even though McNabb has struggled this season — 14 TDs and 15 INTs — he still gives the ‘Skins a much greater chance at winning due to the simple fact that he isn’t Rex Grossman. However, let’s be honest… McNabb is going to get the start unless Shanahan throws up an epic screwball.
