Bryan McCann To See More Returns

With rookie sensation Dez Bryant sidelined for the rest of the year with a broken fibula, fellow rookie Bryan McCann will take over both kick and punt return duties.

“I was always ready,” McCann said. “A lot of people think taking a punt and a kickoff is the same thing, but it’s not. How the ball comes off a kick and a punt is two completly different things.”

Earlier this year, McCann showed his explosiveness and return ability when he returned a punt 97-yards for a touchdown against the Detroit Lions. The play earned McCann NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

If necessary, veteran cornerback Terrence Newman will also field some punts.
