Dallas Cowboys running back finally got the shot he’s been waiting for all season when he got 19 carries against the Indianapolis Colts. Choice took those carries and turned them into what was only the second 100-yard rushing for a Cowboys running back this season.
Choice got his shot due to an injury suffered by starter running back Marion Barber. With Barber out, Choice is the, well, choice of the fans and coaching staff to pick up the slack in the rushing department.
The third-year running back out of Georgia Tech made a great impression on the coaching staff during his performance on Sunday. Interim head coach Jason Garrett said that the team “absolutely” wants to get Choice the ball more.
Garrett and the fans are not the only ones signing Choice’s praise. Hall of Fame running back Tony Dorsett — who led the team in rushing ten times — gave his opinion of Choice and it is a very good one.
“Choice has looked good,” Dorsett said. “He’s a baller. I’ve always liked him. I’ve always said if I [was him and I] wasn’t starting I would be trying to get out of here. He can play in the NFL no question about it.”
If Choice gets another opportunity to showcase his skills and continues to impress, he could be sealing the fate of Marion Barber and essentially sending the dreadlocked back to the free agent market.
