Marion Barber Ruled Out For Sunday’s Game Against Colts

In an announcement that many of us saw coming, the Dallas Cowboys — specifically Jerry Jones — have ruled starting running back Marion Barber out for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, according to the Dallas Morning News.

It is possible that Barber could miss a total of two weeks with his injured calf.

In Barber’s absence, Tashard Choice will step up and see more playing time. Not only will Choice be looking for his breakout game of 2010, but he could be auditioning for a job next season. It is unlikely that all three backs currently on the Cowboys roster will return next season. Choice and Barber look to be the two fighting for that final spot. If Choice shows up and performs well, he will prove his value and make a strong case for returning to Dallas next season.
