Richard Seymour Punches Ben Roethlisberger (video)

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

While it may not be related to the Dallas Cowboys, the incredible stupidity of this move just has to be shared. After the Ben Roethlisberger connected on a touchdown pass to Emmanuel Sanders, he went to celebrate with his teammates — not excessively like the Cowboys have been known to do — and as a result he was punched in the throat by Raiders defensive end Richard Seymour. In a league where safety and protection of quarterbacks has become such an issue, Seymour better receive a hefty fine and suspension. Moves that that are unacceptable in the NFL. Video of [...]

Dallas Cowboys Game Balls: Week 11 Edition

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Detroit Lions 35-19 after the team rallied around backup quarterback Jon Kitna in the second half. Every game there are standout players and those who are deserving of a special honor. NFL teams will often give out game balls in the locker room following the game to acknowledge the players who had spectacular performances throughout the game. After today’s game, I came up with two players I deem worry of receiving game balls. Who earned the right to be called a game ball winner for Week 11?

Root for the Giants Tonight to Keep Dallas’s Playoff Hopes Alive

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 6 Comments

The Cowboys’s playoff hopes are barely alive at 3-7, but there is a chance.  The Cowboys split the season series with the NY Giants and have two games remaining against the Eagles.  This is all predicated on the Cowboys winning the remainder of their games.  If the Eagles lose tonight and the two remaining games to the Cowboys, they will have 6 losses on the season minimum.  The Cowboys would own the tiebreaker against the Eagles and consequently would need the Eagles to lose  only once more this season to have an advantage. There are plenty of additional contenders for the [...]

Jon Kitna Emerges As A Leader; Cowboys Beat Lions, 35-19

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: Comments Off

It was dreadful knowing that prior to the Lions traveling to Dallas to take on th Cowboys today, that we were still looking for the 1st home win…in week 11!  It didn’t help that the 38 yr old backup starting for the Cowboys was playing the team that gave up on him years ago.  The stage was set, and you almost can’t write a better story than the way this ongoing one continues to unfold. Dallas started the game with a defensive stop and forcing Detroit to punt, but the Cowboys found themselves pinned down at their 2 yard line for their 1st offensive possession. [...]

7-10 at the Half: Cowboys Return to Form

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: Comments Off

The Dallas Cowboys have returned to form, but not the form we hoped for. The defense is having difficulty stopping the Lions offense on 3rd down. The offense cannot get any push in running game. The special teams has looked vulnerable. The offense had an untimely turnover with little time on the clock before the half. Maybe we can all agree this team isn’t great. The question is, can they be better than mediocre?

Tony Romo Will Have X-Rays Within 24 Hours

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

It’s been one month since starting quarterback Tony Romo suffered a broken collarbone against the New York Giants. Many had believed with the team’s woeful season they would put Romo on injured reserve. In the words of Lee Corso, “Not so fast, my friends!” “Romo will have new x-rays within 24 hours. If the Cowboys can put together a couple of more wins… Tony Romo will return to the line-up,” ESPN’s Chris Mortensen said on NFL Sunday Countdown. Mortensen added that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones believes finishing a season strong is very important to the team and franchise. So if [...]

3 Game Win Streak on the Horizon?

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: Comments Off

This may be jumping the gun after only one win against a Giants team that came out onto the field listless and unprepared for a team that actually cared. But it isn’t inconceivable that the Cowboys could find themselves at the beginning of a win streak. They next play the Detroit Lions who are no longer a push over, but still have a a year or two before they are ready to contend for a playoff spot. The Lions placed Kevin Smith (RB) onto the injured reserve list as well as Jack Williams (CB). Both starting quarterbacks for each team [...]

Lions Running Back Jahvid Best Will Start Against Cowboys

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: Comments Off

Tomorrow afternoon’s game in Arlington, Texas is going to be a battle of two of the NFL’s worst rushing attacks. The Detroit Lions rank third to last in rushing offense, while the Cowboys come in with the second worst attack. However, the Lions will receive a much needed boost when running back Jahvid Best takes the field for the start. On the season, Best has made his impact felt when he was not fighting through injuries. His 40 receiving yards per game comes in at second in the league among running backs — San Francisco 49ers tailback Frank Gore is [...]
