Around The Web: Tuesday Morning Headlines

IRVING, Texas – Contrary to what a 35-19 final score might perceive, the Cowboys didn’t have it all easy in Sunday’s 16-point win over the Detroit Lions.

Former Cowboy defensive back Deion Sanders and former NFL coach Steve Mariucci weighed in on the Cowboys performance Sunday on the NFL Network. Here are their opinions.

Irving, Texas — Jason Garrett, the interim coach of the Dallas Cowboys, isn’t about to fool himself. The back-to-back victories in Garrett’s first two games while serving as the head coach are nice, but the Cowboys (3-7) haven’t cured all their ills just yet, even if these are happier times in Dallas.

If there is one criticism of Dallas Cowboys interim coach Jason Garrett’s abilities as an offensive playcaller, it’s how he uses the running game. In theory, the Cowboys start Marion Barber then take him out after a handful of snaps and insert Felix Jones. On short-yardage situations, Barber checks in.
