Just add one more thing that interim head coach Jason Garrett is reforming in Dallas.
According to a report by Nakia Hogan ofThe Times-Picayune, the Cowboys had a walkthrough practice at Valley Ranch on Monday, the day after their 35-19 win against Detroit.
As most know, the typical NFL team has an off day following game day. But because of the short week, Garrett is taking advantage of getting some extra time while the New Orleans Saints are sleeping.
“From our standpoint this is a quick week,” Garrett said according to the report. “We have to process the game yesterday quickly and move on to the New Orleans Saints. We installed some stuff this morning in our meetings and had a walkthrough practice this afternoon on the Saints.
“Like I tell our guys, we are within 72 hours of playing this game. So the Saints will be here quickly. We have to get ready for them.”
Dallas has not lost a Thanksgiving-Day game since 2005 when Denver won the 24-21 contest in overtime. Garrett is officially undefeated while coaching in Dallas on Turkey Day.
Garrett has mentioned that he has a lot of respect for the Saints franchise. He understands that New Orleans attempts to rush the passer and force turnovers and that their aggressive defense could threaten a trigger-happy Jon Kitna.
The Saints are coming into Thursday’s game after beating Seattle 34-19.
