Report: Marion Barber Fined For Violating Team Rules

Reports began to surface on Sunday morning that starting running back Marion Barber ignored interim head coach Jason Garrett’s new team dress code. Many players were upset with Barber over the incident and Garrett benched Barber for the start of the game. Barber did re-enter the game on the second play, but his damage was already done.

It appears that being benched for the first play was not the only punishment Barber received. According to sources, he was fined an undisclosed amount for the incident.

“We lay out expectations for our players for all different kinds of behaviors,” Garrett said Monday. “There will be consequences if they don’t follow those procedures, and we’ll keep those consequences in-house.”

Barber was not the only player to be suspended. According to ESPN Dallas, Barber was “one of several players fined for various disciplinary infractions.”

Garrett says that Barber will remain a team captain, but he also points out that the captains need to be leaders by example and embrace the changes he is bringing to the team. Serving as an example is “an important part of the process.”
