Around The Web: Saturday Morning Headlines

I normally provide a Friday Game Plan for the upcoming Cowboys game, but I must admit that this week has a distinctly different feel to it and therefore I have decided to go in a distinctly different direction today. Having been asked all week what I wish to see from new Head Coach Jason Garrett, I thought it would be a great time to go over a realistic list of expectations prior to his team taking the field for the 2nd half of the 2010 season. His task will not be easy, but let’s detail what needs to happen.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones admitted being in denial about coach Wade Phillips and the team over the past couple of weeks. The 45-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers served as a wake-up call for him. He finally realized that Phillips was no longer the answer as head coach.

Earlier this week I had a chance to swap with Fansided’s Cowboys guru Josh Sanchez of The Landry Hat, here is what he had to tell me about this weeks matchup with the Giants.

Five nuggets of knowledge about the Week 10 games.

A message on a greaseboard in the middle of the locker room on Friday reminded players of the new dress code for charter flights to and from games: tie, sport coat, slacks and dress shoes. Under former head coach Wade Phillips, the dress code called for a sportcoat and slacks on the flight to a game, with no restrictions on what could be worn on the return flight.
