Players And Reporters Sound Off On New Head Coach Garrett

Today is the first day of the Jason Garrett era. Everyone is happy to see Wade Phillips get the axe, but what should we expect from the Garrett-led Cowboys?

Many former players and current members of the media are sounding off and leaving their opinions known about what Garrett could bring to the team and their reactions to Wade’s dismissal. Here are a few interviews from earlier today on ESPN Radio:

Deion “Prime Time” Sanders talks about his former teammate and new Cowboys head coach, Jason Garrett.

Former Cowboys DB Darren Woodson offers an insider’s perspective and says he thinks the Cowboys need a strong-minded head coach.

Matt Mosley weighs in on Wade Phillips’ dismissal and Jason Garrett’s chances of remaining in Dallas after this season. Mosley also explains why he thinks Jerry Jones’ role won’t change and Jon Gruden will be the Cowboys’ next coach.

Let’s be honest. There a very slim chance that Garrett will remain with the team after this season, but this is his audition for a job next season. You know Garrett will be doing everything in his power to turn the team around.

He has the right attitude going into the rest of the years, unfortunately many players don’t like him and it will be a struggle. It’s been a long season thus far and we’re only in for a longer and bumpier ride.
