The NFC East Landscape and the Cowboys

Watching the way teams play against the Dallas Cowboys versus the way they play against the remainder of the NFC East is puzzling and frustrating. Jay Cutler throws four interceptions against the Redskins, but looks like the second coming of Kurt Warner against the Cowboys. While the Titans beat the Eagles, with Kerry Collins in for Vince Young, the game was much closer than the final score of 37 to 19. Amazingly, the Titans scored 27 unanswered fourth quarter points, but they did a favor for the Cowboys by bringing the Eagles back to the pack.

Nonetheless, the Eagles and Redskins find themselves with a middle of the road 4-3 record. If by some miracle the Cowboys beat the Giants on Monday night, the Giants will also have a 4-3 record. The Cowboys will have only one more loss than their division rivals with 10 weeks remaining on the schedule.

The 2010 Cowboys are a huge disappointment, but Milton Hershey went bankrupt ten times before developing mediocre chocolate. Just maybe we have seen the worst in the rear view mirror.
