Dallas Cowboys Avoid NFL’s Top Draft Bust List
Mock Draft: The Landry Hat Teams Up With CBS
The Landry Hat and the rest of the FanSided league of bloggers has joined forces with CBS Sportsline for a 2010 Mock Draft. You can view the mock draft here live. This is a huge step for the FanSided Blogs Network and The Landry Hat, which continues to be one of the most-popular among the group. CBS knows we know our football and especially our teams. My pick in the first round, as I explained, wasn’t easy. I wanted to draft Bruce Campbell, but the Oakland Raiders pulled the trigger first. I think Campbell will do well in the NFL. [...]
Cowboys Get Third-Toughest 2010 Schedule
The NFL released matchups for this coming season and rated the Dallas Cowboys with the third-toughest schedule. This year won’t be short of big wins for the Cowboys. Not only will they face Peyton Manning and the Colts, but the Cowboys will see Brett Favre and the Vikings to avenge a humiliating loss in the 2010 playoffs. Other non-division games are against the Saints, Bears, Lions, Packers, Titans, Jaguars, Texans and Cardinals. The Cowboys are bringing back a team that has very few changes to its offensive and defense. Flozell Adams is no longer anchoring the O-line and Ken Hamlin [...]
Analysis of the Dallas Cowboys 2007 NFL Draft Class
By: Joe D. This is a continuation of the draft analysis. Draft grades are often handed out well before the prospects lace up their shoes for the first rookie training camp. It takes three years to determine whether a draft was indeed a “good” draft or riddled with busts. As stated previously, all teams SHOULD get an incomplete immediately after the draft, but they don’t. So let’s look back at the 2007 Cowboys draft class to see whether the grades given at the time were even close (C from SI, B from Yahoo Sports, B from CBS sports). Also, keeping [...]
By: Joe D. The Dallas Cowboys have had their more than their fair share of questionable character players. Some of the Cowboys’s most celebrated players were one slow 40 time away from being career criminals. There will be people on both sides of the fence on every issue, but are the fans willing to look passed the transgressions. Steelers fans will eventually accept and delude themselves about Roethlisberger’s transgressions; Cowboys fans were willing to give second chances (Adam Jones, Micheal Irvin, Hollywood Henderson, Tank Johnson, Terrell Owens, Nate Newton, etc.); golf fans embraced Tiger Woods at the Masters. Several players [...]
Dolphins Still Shopping No. 12 Pick In NFL Draft
The Miami Dolphins got their super talent at wide receiver in Brandon Marshall, so the team’s top pick in this year’s draft is not a tool the Dolphins can use to either trade for more players or trade down in the draft for additional picks. Obviously, the Dallas Cowboys could be one team interested in the Dolphins pick. You can read what Dolphins fans are saying here and I have heard from two sources that the Dolphins have shown interest in Marion Barber and Miles Austin. I doubt the Cowboys would let Austin go, but Barber has been the source [...]
By: Joe D. According to reports, the Pittsburgh Steelers are in discussions with the league office regarding punishment of their two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger. They will collaborate to have one punishment exacted upon Roethlisberger rather than two seperate punishments. I believe the Steelers organization is taking this action for two reasons. First, it is a strong public relations response to appease their fanbase who are fed up with the sophmoric behavior of their star quarterback. They wish to appear pro-active in the punishment phase. Secondly, the Steelers organization may be able to minimize the effects of the punishment [...]
Drunken Jerry Jones Is Set Up In Cell Phone Incident
If you haven’t heard, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has found himself in the middle of a bit of drama and controversy for his drunken words to a person who was recording the entire conversation on their cell phone. Deadspin broke the story today. The problem is, Jerry Jones really didn’t say or do anything wrong. His remarks about Bill Parcells seem to have been made in jest and I doubt Jones was being serious about what he said. He was entertaining some idiots who planned to set him up. Not worth a shit, but I wanted — they were [...]
Big Ben Absolutely Must Be Suspended
Written by theMBIIIeffect If you type the name of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger into Google’s search bar, nine of the ten most popular search options are not football-related. The search options that come up are things like ‘Ben Roethlisberger accuser’ in reference to the 20-year old college student who accused Roethlisberger of sexual assault. It’s the second time in the past eight months that Roethlisberger has been accused of sexual misconduct with a woman. Currently, Roethlisberger is meeting with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Surely they’re discussing some of what Ocmulgee Circuit District Attorney Fred Bright said on Monday-namely that Roethlisberger [...]
