ESPN Duped By Eagles Brandon Graham Pick
Even I thought the Philadelphia Eagles were stealing Earl Thomas away from the Dallas Cowboys by moving up in the draft. Wrong. Surprisingly, they chose Brandon Graham, who was projected to be a 2nd rounder. I’m baffled.
NFL Draft: Eagles Steal Earl Thomas From Dallas Cowboys
No one on the Dallas Cowboys draft board has been picked yet, which means the Cowboys could be making a move up in this draft to select Earl Thomas or Dez Bryant. Miami already traded with the San Diego Chargers, so rumors that the Cowboys were working a deal are dead. Instead of the Cowboys moving up first, it is the Philadelphia Eagles! Eagles steal Earl Thomas from the Dallas Cowboys!
Cowboys Draft Dez Bryant & the Rest of the Picks
By: Joe D. Sam Bradford to the St. Louis Rams Ndamukong Suh to the Detroit Lions Gerald McCoy to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 3 Trent Williams to the Washington Redskins at 4 First surprise of the draft. Eric Berry to the Kansas City Chiefs at 5. KC was believed to be in the market for a tackle. Consequently, the Cowboys may have a shot at a quality tackle in the later part of the draft. Especially if Spiller is taken by Seattle. (WRONG) Russell Okung to the Seattle Seahawks at 6 Joe Haden to the Browns at 7 Rolando [...]
10 Draft Predictions That Will Inevitably be Wrong
By: Joe D. 1. Cowboys don’t choose offensive line in the first round. One for one!!!! 2. Zero teams will trade out of the first round and into the second round. Considering the new draft format and the 24 hour news cycle, teams will be conscientious of local media. WRONG! One for two. Baltimore was given a slew of picks by the Broncos (a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th) to trade up for an h-back. Some kid named Tebow. 3. The Eagles will not trade up in the first round, though they will take a QB in the 3rd round or later. Wrong! [...]
What if Thursday: Martellus Traded?
By: Joe D. Presuming that the Cincinnati Bengals actually offered a “first day” pick to the Cowboys for Bennett (as indicated by Jerry Jones prior to the 2009 trade deadline), the Cowboys would have the 21st and 27th picks in the 2010 NFL Draft (also assuming Bennett’s presence wouldn’t have lead to Bengals to a championship). If the Cowboys had accepted that offer, they would certainly have the necessary draft picks to move up into the top of the draft. If you follow the draft value chart, the Cowboys could package both first round picks and move up to [...]
Cowboys Veterans on the Trading Block?
By: Joe D. According to an article by Clarence Hill, Jr., teams have contacted the Cowboys about veteran players. Teams will generally do their due diligence to find out if Tony Romo could be had for a 5th round pick. Obviously not. It begs the question, what veterans may be sent to a new home if a reasonable offer is placed on the table? Marion Barber has been previously discussed. If Cowboys wanted to move up in the draft, they would trade him to along with their first round pick. Alone, Barber has limited value, 4th or 5th round pick. The biggest reason [...]
Mark Cuban Sits at the Kids Table and Pouts
By: Joe D. First I’d like to express that I have nothing but respect for Mark Cuban as a business man, a billionaire, an owner, and a snazzy dresser. The Dallas Mavericks were mired in mediocrity before his arrival. As a whole, he has helped the improve the profile of the city of Dallas as more than simply a football town. Even with all that goodwill built up, he just sounds petty, self-interested, and ridiculous when he complains about conflicts in scheduling (Last January and recently about the draft). In January 2010, the Dallas Cowboys hosted the Philadelphia Eagles in the wild-card [...]
Happy 30th Birthday Tony Romo
By: Joe D. I was listening to the NFL Network yesterday and Solomon Wilcots described Romo as a young QB who is still learning. Regardless of age, you will always learn new things. Romo turns 30 today, so can we stop calling Romo young? Yes, it is all relative. 50 year olds want to be 30, 60 year olds want to be 40, and 90 year olds just wait for the sweet embrace of death. Romo has given all Cowboys fans a gift the past four years. Not only has he given the gift of quality play on the field, but he was been [...]
Dallas Cowboys 2010 Schedule Released
By: Joe D. On the NFL Network you can watch week by week analysis of each team’s schedule. Additionally, you can find the scheduled released on NFL.com. The entire schedule was released concurrently by both media at 7p.m. est. Week 1: Cowboys @ Redskins, Sunday, Sept. 12, 8:20 p.m. on NBC Cowboys get a break by playing in DC early in the season. They avoid what could be horrible weather conditions (sleet, snow, etc.). Additionally, the Cowboys should get a break playing against a team installing a new defense (from the 4-3 to the 3-4). McNabb’s familiarity with the Cowboys [...]
NFL: No Foul Language Here Folks, But MBIIIEffect is Mad
Written by theMBIIIeffect The NFL had a lay-up for the Giants’ season opener this year at the New Meadowland Stadium. And, boy, did they ever get it wrong. Go back to last year’s Cowboys season opener against the Giants last year. The Giants won that game 33-31 and mouth-breather extraordinaire Eli Manning autographed the wall in the visiting team’s locker room. The game is basically meaningless in retrospect. It’ll go down as a loss but it didn’t hugely alter the course of the season for the Cowboys. The Giants ended their season with an 8-8 mark so it wasn’t a [...]
