Meet Jay Ratliff 2.0

By: Joe D.

Read the analysis of our 7th round draft pick, Sean Lissemore, and tell me who comes to mind.

Per SI:

7th round pick

Positives: Explosive one-gap tackle best in a straight line. Plays with good pad level, displays terrific first step quickness, and keeps his feet driving up the field. Plays with a non-stop motor and chases the action. Bends his knees, rarely off his feet, and flashes power in his lower body.

Negatives: Possesses an average change of direction and limited abilities making plays laterally. Lacks bulk for an interior lineman.

Analysis: Lissemore’s a small but fiery defensive lineman who plays with a warrior mentality.

While I have reservations about Dallas’s picks in the 6th round, the Cowboys have gone back to the Ratliff style well.  If Lissemore plays 1/2 as well as Ratliff… he’ll be out of the league in 2 years.  But if he plays 3/4′s as well as Ratliff, we have just struck 7th round gold!
