Dallas Receives Zero Compensatory Picks

By: Joe D.

Compensatory picks were announced today.  The New England Patriots received the most compensatory picks (one sixth round pick, and three seventh round picks).  The Bengals and Titans received the best compensatory picks receiving the 33rd and 34th picks respectively in the 3rd round.

Compensatory picks are determined by a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors. A team losing more or better players than it acquires is eligible.

Considering Dallas acquired Gerald Sensabaugh, Keith Brooking, and Igor Olshansky versus losing Chris Canty and some lower level talent, it wasn’t a surprise that the Cowboys were shutout of the compensatory picks.  It should be noted that Terrell Owens was cut from the team, therefore his loss was not considered in the final calculations.

Topics: Chris Canty, Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Gerald Sensabaugh, Igor Olshansky, Keith Brooking, New England Patriots, Tennesee Titans, Terrell Owens
